2016 year - The Year of Respect for Heritage, Reformation of Motherland

 

The Day of Constitution of Turkmenistan and Poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi was celebrated in Astrakhan and Stavropol

On May 18, 2016 Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) held a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the great Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli in Astrakhan to mark the Day of Constitution of Turkmenistan and Poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi.

 The ceremony was attended by the leaders of the Russian Foreign Ministry representative office in Astrakhan, Astrakhan Regional Government members, heads of national non-governmental organizations, representatives of Turkmen diaspora and students, as well as the Russian media.

Near the monument to Makhtumkuli Fragi Turkmen students studying in Astrakhan read poems of the great Turkmen classic, filled with feelings of love for the country, proud of its freedom-loving people.

At the end of the main part of the celebration, students from Turkmenistan were awarded diplomas of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) and Astrakhan regional public organization of Turkmen culture "Shatlyk" for active participation in cultural and sporting events.

The celebrations on the occasion of the Day of Constitution of Turkmenistan and Poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi also took place in the village Edelbai of the Blagodarnensk district, Stavropol Territory, which were organized by the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan), together with the Administration of the Blagodarnensk district.

 

At the monument to Makhtumkuli Fragi, which was set in the village of Edelbai in 2008, representatives of numerous Turkmen diaspora of Stavropol Territory and the local community brought together. The ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the great Turkmen poet was attended by the heads of the administration part of the Blagodarnensk district, residents of several neighboring districts.
             As part of the celebrations there was also an exhibition of works of fine art and jewelry of the Turkmen people, national clothes and Turkmen carpets.
