On February 24-25, 2015 seventh regular meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Austrian joint commission was held in Ashgabat. The delegation of the Republic of Austria arrived to participate in the work of the commission. Co-Chairman of the Austrian part of the commission is the Deputy Minister for Foreign Economic Policy and European Integration of the Federal Ministry of Economy, Science and Research of Austria Ms. Bernadette Gierlinger.
At the beginning of the meeting the sides discussed the progress of the implementation of the previously reached agreements at the sixth meeting of the commission, which was held in November 2013 in Vienna.
By positively evaluating the results of the work that was done on the progress of recently reached agreements, members of the commission discussed issues of activating the interaction in the field of trade, energy and ecology, textile and food industry, agriculture and construction, healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. One of the topics of the meeting was the issue related to the development of the partnership between the leading scientific centers and institutions in the field of education.
At the end of the seventh meeting of intergovernmental Turkmen-Austrian joint commission was signed the final protocol.
Besides that, within the framework of delegation’s visit, joint business forum was held at the business centre “Mizan”, with the participation of the government structures and business circles of the two states. The agenda of the negotiations included wide range of issues of the Turkmen-Austrian partnership in the context of the key directions, modern realities and plans on the future as well as within the framework of the dialog of Turkmenistan-European Union.
Also during the visit, the meeting of business circles of the two countries was held at the Union of Industrials and Entrepreneurs of the Turkmenistan.
