On March 18, 2015, meeting with the new appointed Ambassador, Charge d’Affaires of Japan in Turkmenistan Mr. Hideomi Nakajima and completing his mission Ambassador, Chargé d’Affaires of Japan in Turkmenistan Mr. Yasusige Okimoto, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At the beginning of the meeting parties underlined the effectiveness of the working visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan in March this year. The parties discussed state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, in particular in the field of transport, telecommunications, science, education, sports, tourism, as well as interaction in international organizations.
During the talks the sides exchanged views on issues of regional and international character, consolidation of efforts in fight against general challenges and dangers. In this context Japanese diplomats expressed interest to the international initiatives of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
By the end of the meeting, completing his diplomatic mission Ambassador Mr. Yasusige Okimoto thanked the Turkmen side for their assistance in his work as the head of a diplomatic mission. New Ambassador, Charge d’Affairs of Japan in Turkmenistan Mr. Hideomi Nakajima, in his turn, assured the Turkmen side that he would make every effort to ensure further development and strengthening of the Turkmen-Japanese friendly relations.
