On January 15, 2024, in the Administration of the Governor of Istanbul, a meeting was held between the Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye Muhammetnur Ovezov and the Governor of Istanbul Davud Gul.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues of cooperation in trade, economic, educational, cultural and humanitarian areas.
Particular attention was paid to the establishment of twinning relations between the municipalities of the two countries, including the prospects for bilateral cooperation between the cities of Arkadag and Istanbul. A separate topic of discussion was the holding of cultural events aimed at supporting the Turkmen diaspora in Istanbul.
Continuing the conversation, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to youth issues and provides all possible support for strengthening their role in the development of the state. In this context, M.Ovezov focused on the book of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Youth is the support of the Motherland.”
An exchange of views also took place on a joint plan of events for 2024, declared in Turkmenistan the year of “Fount wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”.
