Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented his credentials to the President of the Swiss Confederation

On June 11, 2024, the ceremony of presenting credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Switzerland Vepa Hajiyev to the President of the Swiss Confederation Viola Amherd took place in the building of the Federal Palace of the Swiss Confederation in Bern.

At the beginning of the conversation, the Ambassador conveyed greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressed to the President of the Swiss Confederation, and also confirmed the interest of the Turkmen side in striving to deepen friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Switzerland in various fields.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side outlined the most promising areas of bilateral cooperation, such as politics and security, energy, attracting Swiss investment and technology, including in the field of the «green economy», as well as the humanitarian sphere, and expressed hope for a constructive and friendly approach from the Swiss side in further expanding Turkmen-Swiss cooperation.

In response, V. Amherd expressed deep gratitude for the warm greetings and wishes addressed to her, and asked to convey friendly greetings in return to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The President, thanking the Turkmen side for its interest in developing bilateral cooperation, expressed readiness for comprehensive cooperation in the above-mentioned areas.
