On October 31, 2024, a literary event in participation of Turkmen and Tajik writers, poets and journalists on the theme «Magtymguly Fragi and Turkmen-Tajik friendship» was held at the secondary comprehensive school named after Magtymguly in the Dusti district of the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan jointly with the National Academy of Sciences and the Writers’ Union of Tajikistan.
The event was attended by Ambassador A.Gochmyradov, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan K.Khushvakhtzoda, Chairman of the Commission on Parliamentary Ethics of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan F.Barotzoda, First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan A.Mirkhoja, member of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan, writer, translator and dramatist A.Khamdam. Diplomats accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan also took part in the event.
The speakers noted that the work of Magtymguly Fragi is of great importance not only for the Turkmen, but also for all the peoples of the world and that events of this format serve as a vivid example of the development of cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
As part of the literary event, an exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the great poet was organized, where books by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the President of Turkmenistan, collections of poems by Magtymguly Fragi and works by contemporary artists were presented.
