On January 22, 2025, Moscow hosted a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues near the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues of economic cooperation between the CIS member states.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation E.Aydogdyev acquainted the participants of the meeting with the Concept of the Activities and priorities of Turkmenistan within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust, which reflects the country’s position on the main issues of the modern global agenda, as well as on the consolidation of the efforts of states based on mutual trust, dialogue and responsibility.
As noted, at the proposal of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a Resolution declaring 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, which became a vivid expression of recognition of Turkmenistan’s work aimed at ensuring global peace, security and sustainable development.
In this context, the Turkmen side put forward an initiative to hold joint events within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust in the name of further enhancing fruitful cooperation in the CIS space.
