In cooperation with UNODC, a port control unit was opened at the Farap dry port
In cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, within the framework of the UNODC-WCO Global Container Control Programme, the opening of the Port Control Unit took place at Turkmenistan’s Farap customs post on the border with Uzbekistan.
Global Container Control Programme helps to strengthen the security of the international supply chain by building the capacity of national customs/border agencies to detect the use of maritime, land and air cargo for illegal purposes.
Previously, Port Control Units were established at the International Customs Terminal in Ashgabat, as well as at the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.
