Social sphere

The policy of ensuring social transformations implemented in Turkmenistan under the motto "The state is for the people!" is aimed at ensuring a high level of population growth. The tasks defined in the Program "Revival of the new program of a powerful state: National socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052" and the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan on socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028" contribute to the implementation of large-scale projects within the framework of the initiative of social and domestic welfare of the people. In Turkmenistan, 75-80 percent of the state budget expenditure is directed to ensuring the social sphere - financing healthcare, education, culture, housing and communal services and the service sector, increasing wages, pensions, state benefits, scholarships, as well as the implementation of various projects in this area. Every year, wages, pensions, benefits and scholarships are increased in Turkmenistan. The minimum amounts of housing and communal services and medical services for the population are maintained according to world standards. For citizens of low categories, veterans and disabled people, as well as children left without parental care, it is possible to receive additional social benefits. In accordance with the Code of Turkmenistan "On Social Protection of the Population" that entered into force on January 1, 2013, the list of state benefits and types of social assistance to disabled people has been expanded, the amount of disability benefits has been increased. A state benefit has been established for looking after and caring for a child up to three years of age. A benefit is provided for the loss of food, as well as the stipulated right to receive benefits.

In state policy, much attention is paid to the constitutional permissions of citizens to maintain their employment, in this direction, comprehensive measures are being taken: more jobs are being opened, the employment system of the population is being optimized.

In Turkmenistan, strict control over the quality and safety of food products, especially baby food, has been established. Expanded scope of activities to provide the population with clean drinking water. In 2019, the "National Program for Healthy Nutrition of the Population of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025" was adopted.

The country has a fair pricing policy that regulates the cost of goods and services. Priority is given to increasing the population's income, regulating the growth rates of labor productivity and wages, maintaining the established volume of investment in the economic sphere. The main indicators of the country's socio-economic development show that the main goal of state policy is to care for people. This leads to an increase in international results in Turkmenistan, which has a high level of social protection for citizens. As part of the achievements of the Goals, the development of the Organization is envisaged.
