On February 9, 2023, a meeting with Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman of Defense Committee of the Senate of Pakistan was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad.
During the meeting Ambassador of Turkmenistan briefed the Senator on the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and important political events taking place in the country, aimed at improvement of the social and living conditions of the population. In this regard, the presentation was made about Arkadag city, which is built according to the concept of a "Smart City", based on advanced technologies and ecological clean infrastructure.
Senator was also updated on the implementation of the large joint projects, such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline as well as power transmission and fiber-optic lines along the route Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP).
Thanking for the presentation, Senator M. H. Sayed highly valued the wide use of innovative technologies and environmentally friendly construction materials in Arkadag city.
Emphasizing the acute shortage of energy in Pakistan, Senator stressed that the Government of Pakistan supports the TAPI, TAP projects, which will contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
