On February 28, 2023, the meeting was held between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Georgia D.Muratov and Director of Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Center of Manuscripts Z. Abashidze.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further deepening and strengthening of bilateral scientific and educational cooperation, popularization of national heritage and cultural values of the peoples of the two countries.
The sides noted that Turkmenistan and Georgia have centuries-old traditionally friendly relations that continue to develop actively, both bilaterally and multilaterally. It was emphasized that an important component of the two countries is cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, where there is long-term experience of interaction and the potential to strengthening.
During the meeting, Ambassador D.Muratov noticed that science, education and cultural diplomacy are important directions of the state policy of Turkmenistan. As a recognized peacemaking and at the same time cultural center of the region, Turkmenistan demonstrates its readiness for large-scale humanitarian cooperation, calling for mutual enrichment of cultures. Declaration of 2024 «The Year of Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Magtymguly Pyragy» by the International Organization of Turkic Culture is another evidence of successful international cultural diplomacy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan. Preparation at the international level for the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet-philosopher confirms that the creative heritage of the great Master of Words is the property of all mankind.
For his part, Z.Abashidze noticed that deepening effective cooperation between Magtymguly National Institute of language, literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Science of Turkmenistan and the Georgian National Center of Manuscripts, organization and holding international conferences, exhibitions, various cultural events will contribute to strengthening cultural-humanitarian ties, popularization of rich cultural heritage, ancient values and national art of the peoples of both countries.
