Within the framework of the 32nd session of the UN Commission on crime prevention and criminal justice, a side event "Significance of mutual dialogue and multilateral instruments in crime prevention" was held.
Representatives of UNODC, UNRCCA, Judicial cooperation network for Central Asia and Southern Caucasus, known as CASC network, the UNTOC Review Mechanism Secretariat, countries of Central Asia and other regions took an active part in this side event, organized within the framework of the International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace declared by the UN General Assembly.
The participants exchanged views, experiences, achievements and challenges ahead in the fight against various forms of transnational organized crime.
Representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan in their speeches noted the effective work and preventive measures carried out in this area in the country, and stressed the importance of active international cooperation and the application of international standards at the national level in this regard.
This side event was organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia.
The 32nd session of the UN Commission on crime prevention and criminal justice is taking place from May 22 to 26, 2023, during which representatives of the countries of the world jointly consider issues related to the prevention of organized crime, advancing goals aimed at the criminal justice system, establishing and strengthening effective relations between the parties in this area.
