On August 14, 2023, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Cambodia (with residence in Kuala Lumpur) M.Mashalov met with the Minister of Tourism of the country, Tong Khon.
M.Mashalov expressed the desire of Turkmenistan to organize tourism events both in Cambodia and Turkmenistan. Such events will highlight each country's tourist attractions and serve to attract tour operators, he said.
Tong Khon supported this proposal and called for the preparation of a Memorandum of understanding between Cambodia and Turkmenistan, which would guide joint plans and actions in the field of tourism.
On August 15, Ambassador M.Mashalov met with the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia Tuot Panh.
Issues of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed at the meeting. In particular, the parties stressed the importance of holding high-level visits between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
On the same day, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan met with the Director General of the Department of International Relations, Protocol and Information of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia Virak Prom.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that parliamentary cooperation between the two countries is one of the important tools for ensuring effective relations, international cooperation, and strengthening mutual understanding. The parties stressed the importance of exchanging experience in the legislative sphere, wide use of the existing potential of parliamentary relations.
