On August 21, 2023, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan took part in the business conference "Exploring Business Opportunities in Central Asian countries", organized by the Millennial India International Chamber of Commerce Industry & Agriculture (MIICCIA) with the support of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The conference was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions of the Central Asian countries in India, heads of relevant departments of the Ministries of External Affairs, Trade, Small and Medium Business, as well as representatives of local firms and companies.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan noted the positive cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in the implementation of major international projects such as the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, the development of transport and logistics corridors under the Ashgabat Agreement and the North-South International Transport Corridor.
Referring to the investment climate in Turkmenistan, the Ambassador emphasized that large-scale reforms and diversification of the country's economic development are being carried out under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan in accordance with the goals and objectives defined in the strategic state programs.
As a good example of Turkmenistan’s progressive approach to solving global environmental issues, the Ambassador drew the attention of the audience to the opening of the first “smart” city of Arkadag, which took place on June 29, 2023, where the most advanced technologies were embodied in creating an environmentally friendly and socially inclusive urban environment.
Referring to the agreements reached at the highest level, the Ambassador also highlighted the potential for developing mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in such areas as the oil and gas industry, transport and communications, agro-industrial complex, chemical and textile industries, IT technologies, as well as other types of industry .
