On November 6, 2023, the 10th interregional meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the organization’s member countries was held in Paris at the UNESCO headquarters, in which the executive secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Ch.Rustamova took part.
The meeting, held within the framework of the 42nd session of the General Conference of UNESCO, was attended by leaders and representatives of the Organization, executive secretaries of the National Commissions for UNESCO.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to discussing important issues on the agenda, including reviews of reports, analysis of bilateral and multilateral initiatives, and an exchange of views on improving the practice of interaction between regional structures and National Commissions of UNESCO.
This interregional meeting demonstrated the desire of National Commissions for UNESCO to contribute to the ongoing process of implementation of UNESCO's Medium-Term Strategy for 2022-2029 and Budget for 2026-2029, to provide a platform for the exchange of views on the role of National Commissions in the implementation of the Organization's programs and its strategic transformation.
