On December 10, 2016 a meeting with the Head of Regional Delegation of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in Central Asia Mr. Jean-Jérôme Kasabyanka was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkmen side has congratulated Mr. Jean-Jerome Kasabyanka on his appointment as the Head of the ICRC Regional Delegation. Then, the sides noted the continued close cooperation in three main areas, in particular, the implementation of international humanitarian law and cooperation with the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, as well as enhanced cooperation in the implementation of the "Action Plan for the implementation of International Humanitarian Law for 2016-2017" adopted by the Government of Turkmenistan.
Also during the talks, the sides reviewed the current activities under the Plan of Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the ICRC for 2016 and discussed the plans and prospects of cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the ICRC in 2017, including a draft Plan of Cooperation for 2017.
