On December 10, 2016 the International scientific-practical conference "Neutrality of Turkmenistan and international practice: new achievements of cooperation for stable development" was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The forum was attended by representatives of the Mejlis, the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under President of Turkmenistan, the Institute of State and Law under the President of Turkmenistan, heads of diplomatic missions of a number of foreign states and representations of international organizations accredited in our country, as well as teachers and students of IIR MFA and other higher educational institutions.
In the lobby of the Institute there was an exhibition that introduced the ancient history of the Turkmen people, its rich cultural and spiritual heritage, as well as the achievements of Turkmenistan for 25 years of Independence.
The forum participants were read a welcome address of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
As noted in the reports, Turkmenistan's neutral status has become a phenomenon in international diplomacy, given the fact that our country was the first in the modern history to be proclaimed the neutral state, recognized by the international community.
Great interest was aroused by the foreign diplomats, heads of the diplomatic missions and international organizations, accredited to our country, who highly appreciated Turkmenistan's position, fully using its political, economic and cultural potential in the interests of global peace and sustainable development.
Exchange of views held at the forum, objective and comprehensive assessment of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, its impact on the global integration process, become a weighty contribution to the development of the theory and practice of international diplomacy.
At the end of the international conference, its participants adopted an address to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
