On the 17th of May 2019, the first meeting of newly established Interdepartmental Working Group on the preparation of the Working Plan of Turkmenistan in the framework of the Executive Board of the World Food Programme for the period of 2020-2022, Commission on Narcotic Drugs for the period of 2020-2023 and Commission on Population and Development for the period of 2020-2024 was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan has been elected to these structures on May 7, 2019 during the organizational session of ECOSOC.
On behalf of Turkmenistan, the heads and representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Ministry of Agriculture and Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, State Committee for Statistics, State Committee for Television, Radiobroadcasting and Cinematography, Union of the Youth of Turkmenistan, as well as the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan participated to the meeting.
On the part of the United Nations, the heads and representatives of the Office of UN Resident Coordinator, UNICEF, UNDP, UNODC, WHO, UNFPA in Turkmenistan, as well as the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy of Central Asia took part in the session.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the structure of the Working Plan, considered the proposals on its development and determined the priority missions for future.
