On June 25, 2019, the Regional Environmental Center of Central Asia organized a seminar entitled "Issues of activity of small regional councils in the region and the role of partners in the development of assistance to these councils" in the Mary Velayat (regional) library of the city of Mary.
The seminar, organized by the Regional Environmental Center of Central Asia and the Executive Board of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea with the assistance of the Turkmen side, was attended by representatives of the small regional councils on the Murgap River basin of the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan, representatives of international organizations, as well as officers of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of the seminar is the mutual exchange of experience between small regional councils on the development of their river basins. During the seminar it is planned to get acquainted with the achievements of the small council on the Murgap River basin.
The seminar will continue its work until June 26.
