The Institute of the Caspian Sea is established in Turkmenistan
On August 9, 2019, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree on the establishment of the Institute of the Caspian Sea.
According to the decree, the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan was abolished and the Institute of the Caspian Sea was determined as its successor.
The Institute was established in order to promote cooperation in the Caspian Sea region, analyze the work carried out on various aspects, to conduct the marine scientific research, to prepare international and national legal documents related to the Caspian Sea, as well as to review the implementation in Turkmenistan of international treaties on the Caspian Sea including the preparation of the relevant methodological information.
