During his working visit to New-York, on the 30th of September 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan had a meeting with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Head of Counter-Terrorism Office Vladimir Voronkov.
The parties discussed the cooperation of Turkmenistan with the United Nations on the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. In particular, the parties discussed the variety of issues related to the development of multilateral partnership between the UN member-states aimed at the establishment of effective mechanisms enabling the efficient fulfilling of the obligations in the area of resisting international terrorism, extremism and other threats.
The parties paid special attention to the implementation of the Regional Action Plan for Central Asia on the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, including the efficiency of its Phase III implementation.
