On May 23, 2017, in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Turkmenistan (with the residence in Tashkent), Mr. Jaroslav Siro, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
During the meeting, the Ambassador presented copies of his credentials. Then, in the course of the negotiations, the sides noted with satisfaction the high level of political cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic. Expressing interest in the further development of relations in the political and diplomatic sphere, proposals were put forward for their further deepening. Noting the systemic nature of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the sides noted the importance of regular political consultations.
The parties expressed their commitment to further development of cooperation within the framework of authoritative international organizations; proposals were made to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation. Noting the fruitful experience and potential of trade and economic relations, the sides expressed their aspiration for their further diversification. The sides discussed the possibility of establishing close ties between the business structures of the two countries through the organization of joint forums.
In addition, during the talks the parties discussed prospects for the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as expanding relations in the field of education and sport. Stressing the focus on fruitful and effective cooperation, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to render all assistance and support to the Ambassador's activities in the new post.
