On June 16, 2017 in Ashgabat, was held the third meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Hungarian commission for economic cooperation. The co-chairman of the commission from the Hungarian side is the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Istvan Mikola.
The commission was attended by heads and representatives of leading ministries and industry departments, as well as representatives of business circles of the two states.
At the meeting, the sides provided detailed information on the economic potential of the two countries, as well as proposals on further intensifying of bilateral trade and economic relations in a wide range of areas.
During the talks an agreement was reached on the development of cooperation in the field of transport. Representatives of the Hungarian delegation noted the potential for investment in the country, and expressed interest in developing cooperation in the fields of the petrochemical, gas, agro-industry and water sector. The Turkmen side expressed interest in further development of cooperation in the fields of health and pharmaceuticals and noted the commitment to further diversifying economic relations and bringing them to a new high level.
The chairmen of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Hungarian commission for economic cooperation noted the productive outcome of the meeting and noted the desire to intensify the foreign trade turnover between the two countries. As a result of the talks, the protocol of the third meeting of the commission was signed and the priority directions of the interstate dialogue were determined for the forthcoming period.
