Today, June 19, 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B.Myatiev received copies of his credentials from the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Turkmenistan (with residence in Tashkent) Viktor Boretsky.
B.Myatiev congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to a responsible position and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic activities.
During the meeting, the current bilateral agenda of Turkmen-Slovak relations was discussed.
It was noted that in January of this year, Turkmenistan and the Slovak Republic celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasized the joint work between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
The diplomats especially noted the constructive activities of the two states in a multilateral format, primarily in the UN, in which the parties provide mutual support to the international initiatives and undertakings put forward.
During the talks, a common opinion was expressed on the need to further expand trade and economic cooperation, which has great potential. In this context, the issues of holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, as well as mutual visits of entrepreneurs of the two countries have been updated.
In the context of the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, it was proposed to hold cross Days of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Slovak Republic, as well as exhibitions and other events aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries. The prospects for cooperation in the field of education, healthcare and tourism were also discussed.
