On November 20, 2017 the book by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road" was presented to the audience in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
At the event hosted by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Arab Emirates Ambassadors and foreign diplomats accredited to the UAE, representatives of the academia, media and the Turkmen diaspora in the UAE attended the event.
During the presentation it was noted that the new book of the Head of Turkmenistan is addressed to a wide readership. The book reflects the concept of modern development of Turkmenistan, based on historical experience, traditions of peacemaking and good-neighborliness, reverence of the spiritual heritage of the Turkmen nation, its intention for regional and global integration and progress. The main idea of the book is the understanding of the initiative and constructive position of neutral Turkmenistan in the international arena through the prism of its historical path.
Over the years of productive political and diplomatic activities of the Honorable President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in order to activate the traffic flows of the Great Silk Road, the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway project has been implemented, and many road and rail bridges have been constructed in the North-South and East-West directions. The construction and commissioning of two major projects - the road and railway bridges - across the Amu Darya River were carried out. The construction of the railway Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan has been also started.
Under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, large-scale construction projects are underway in the country to modernize the entire transport infrastructure. All of the above is conducive to the expansion and activation of the Great Silk Road.
By appreciating the importance of the book published in three languages, the participants, namely diplomatic corps, stressed the importance of the new book of the President of Turkmenistan in popularizing the spiritual, historical and cultural aspects of the phenomenon of the Great Silk Road.
