On October 13, 2016, the official opening of the exhibition devoted to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the five Central Asian states was held in the main hall of the World Bank in Washington. The exhibition was organized by the Department of Culture of the World Bank with the participation and assistance of the five Embassies in Washington.
The exhibition included a variety of elements of the art of Central Asia, including both modern designs, such as art or fashion, and traditional forms of folk art. Turkmen Embassy put up the works of Turkmen artists, national hand-made carpets and sculptural work. The World Bank had prepared tables dedicated to each of the Central Asian countries with photos and brief information about the history of the country.
The exhibition was attended by Vice-president of the Bank, Mr. Muller, who made a welcoming speech, as well as other employees of the Bank. On the part of the diplomatic corps the heads and staff of the Embassies of Central Asia attended the event. The exhibition will run until 28th of October.
