In honor of the month of mass sports and cultural and social events under the motto "Health and Happiness", held in Turkmenistan from April 5 to May 5 of each year, on April 20, 2018, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Saudi Arabia organized a mini-football tournament in the sports complex of the Diplomatic enclave in the city of Riyadh.
Sports teams of diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations and representatives of the Turkmen Diaspora, living in Riyadh, took part in this tournament.
Before the start of the sport competitions, the participants were informed that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays special attention to the sport as an important means of promoting the health of the nation and that sport plays an important role in Turkmenistan's social policy aimed at raising the standard of living of the population and bringing up physically and morally strong generation.
Then, among the five teams that applied for the tournament, stubborn duels took place in several rounds. All participants of the sport events were given sport t-shirts with the emblem of 2018 "Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road". Winners and prize-winners of the competitions were awarded special prizes of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Saudi Arabia.
The participants of the cultural-sporting event noted the high organization and friendly atmosphere of the competitions and expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the tournament.
