On April 20, 2018, in honor of the month of mass sports events under the motto "Health and Happiness" and the successes of Turkmenistan's transport diplomacy, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Turkey organized a football tournament at the stadium of Hadjetepe State University in Ankara among Turkmen students studying in higher educational institutions of the cities Ankara, Aksaray, Kirshehir and Ushak.
Before the start of the cultural and sporting event, the audience was told about the work carried out in the country in connection with the announcement of 2018 "Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road". The students were also briefed about the international rally, cycling races and running competitions under the name of "Amul-Khazar 2018" on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan.
In particular, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan informed the participants about the adoption of the resolution "World Bicycle Day" initiated by Turkmenistan at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly and congratulated those present on the adoption of the resolution and the celebration of the World Bike Day on June 3 each year.
During the football tournament, teams of Turkmen students from the higher educational institutions of Ankara, Aksaray, Kyrshehir and Ushak competed among themselves. At the end of the tournament, the winners and prize-winners were awarded with memorable gifts.
