Within the framework of the month of sports events under the motto «Health and Happiness", held annually in the country, it has become a tradition to organize sports tournaments in various sports with the participation of the teams of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions accredited in Ashgabat.
This year dozens of representatives and teams competed in such sports as table tennis, chess, volleyball and mini-football.
Competitions on table tennis took place in the sports complex of the Turkmen National Institute of Sports and Tourism, in which the first, second and third places were respectively won by the representatives of the Embassies of the United States, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.
Chess competitions took place in the Ashgabat specialized school of chess and drafts, where the representative of the Russian Embassy received the first place, representatives of the US Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, second and third places respectively.
Prize places in volleyball competitions which took place in the sports complex of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, were distributed as follows: the first place went to the team of the Russian Embassy, the second place to the team of the US Embassy, and the third place to the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
As always, the most spectacular was the mini-football tournament, which was held for three days on the basis of the multi-purpose stadium "Ashgabat". In view of the multiplicity of the participants, the teams competed in two subgroups, the two winners went to the semifinals, and then to the final part of the tournament. As a result, the first place was awarded to the team of the Embassy of Russia, the second team was the united team of the Embassy of the State of Qatar and the OSCE, the third place was taken by the team of the US Embassy.
The prize-winners were awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, as well as commemorative prizes of the corresponding sports federations.
