On June 8, 2018 a round table in on the issues of freedom of religion was held in the building of the National Institute of Democracy and Law under the President of Turkmenistan. Representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Adalat (Justice) of Turkmenistan, the Muftiyat of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of various religious organizations took part in the dialogue.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan addressed the opening ceremony, noting that this event in the format of an open dialogue will make it possible to become more familiar with the activities and working conditions of religious organizations.
Speaking at the round table, the participants of the forum informed in detail about the legal regulation of the activities of religious organizations, the development of national legislation in the field of ensuring the rights of citizens to freedom of religion, the procedure for registration of religious organizations, including the tasks of legislation in ensuring freedom of religion.
The participants of the meeting noted that strengthening the democratic principles and legal bases of society and the state, implementation of political, economic, social and other civil rights and freedoms of every person is one of the key priorities of the state policy of Turkmenistan.
