On April 6, 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, with the support of the UN Resident Coordinator Office, convened the Conference entitled «Results of COP-26: towards the implementation of climate change initiatives of Central Asian countries».
Participants discussed main achievements of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, their significance for Central Asia, as well as ways to expand cooperation in promoting the initiatives of the countries of the region on climate change.
During this Conference Dr.Rose Mwebaza, Director of the Untied Nations Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) highlighted priorities of the CTCN, operating under the auspices of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Director underlined the significance to consolidate efforts with the Central Asian countries in tackling regional climate change challenges and enhance climate technology actions. In this regard the CTCN official noted the possibilities to establish regional presence in Central Asia.
