On March 5, 2024, in the building of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, the first meeting of the Heads of Permanent Representatives of the Central Asian countries with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) K.Imnadze took place.
During the meeting, the participants noted the timeliness and importance of the process of starting to establish political and diplomatic contacts through the UNRCCA-Geneva UN platform, which will help increase the potential and capabilities of the Center in implementing the international agenda in the region - Central Asia.
The head of the UNRCCA briefed the heads of diplomatic missions of the Central Asian countries accredited in Geneva on the activities of the Regional Center in Ashgabat, which include issues of promoting stability and security in the region, countering terrorism and violent extremism, managing transboundary water resources, working with youth, and developing gender equality.
