During the 66th session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs held in Vienna, Austria on March 13-17, 2023, a side event titled "Active Dialogue - Preventing Drug Illicit Use" was organized.
Representatives of UNODC, CARICC, countries of Central Asia and other regions actively participated in this event, which was organized in frames of the ongoing International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace" announced by the UN General Assembly.
Participants exchanged views, experiences, achievements, and upcoming challenges in the field of combating illicit drug use.
It was noted that the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs has an important role in bringing together the representatives from all over the world, advancing the tasks aimed at preventing illegal drug trafficking, establishing and strengthening effective cooperation between the parties.
This session was organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan jointly with the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia and CARICC.
