On April 9, 2023, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia O.Charyev and the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Majid bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Hoqail.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the possibilities of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of housing construction, the use of environmentally friendly building materials in construction, and the introduction of smart technologies.
The Ambassador provided information about the city of Arkadag, which is being built on the initiative of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, based on the concept of a "smart" city.
The Saudi side highly appreciated the high quality of the city of Arkadag infrastructure in accordance with international standards, especially the fact that it was built by local construction companies in Turkmenistan.
The parties also discussed the possibility of creating a special working group to exchange experience between the two fraternal countries for the development of cooperation in the field of urban planning.
