The delegation of Turkmenistan takes part in the next session of the International Convention against Doping in Sport (COP9)

On October 25-26, 2023, the ninth session of the Conference of the Parties against Doping in Sport (COP9) is being held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, in which the Turkmen delegation led by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to UNESCO M.Charyev participates.

The agenda of the conference includes the hearing of preliminary reports, the consideration of strategic changes in the context of the fight against doping, as well as recommendations for strengthening the responsibility of States parties in implementing the provisions of the Convention. In addition, the main attention will be on discussing the projects of the Foundation, the goal of which is to eradicate of doping in 2024-2025.

As is known, Turkmenistan ratified the UNESCO Anti-Doping Convention in 2011. Our country also joined the Nairobi Agreement, which regulates the protection of Olympic symbols, and established the National Anti-Doping Agency. The state policy of Turkmenistan always focuses on improving physical education, promoting a healthy lifestyle and the strengthening of international sports cooperation.
