On December 15, 2016 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan Ms. Thorhilda Mary Vivia Abbott-Watt.
During the meeting the sides discussed the present state and prospects of the development of the relations between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom. Then, the sides exchanged views on further expansion of bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. In this context, it was noted the importance of the activities of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council (TUKTIC), as well as the need to intensify cooperation in the fuel and energy sector.
Within the framework of the meeting, Ms. Thorhilda Abbott-Watt presented copies of her credentials, and, for her part, assured that as the authorized representative of her country in Turkmenistan she will make every effort to further develop and strengthen bilateral relations.
