On April 27, 2020, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov and Head of UNICEF Office in Turkmenistan Christine Weigand.
During the meeting, the parties noted the successful long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The effectiveness of programs that were developed and implemented at the national level was emphasized.
An exchange of views also took place on further steps aimed at improving measures in the field of digitalization of education, healthcare, the social protection system and emergency preparedness.
Speaking about the importance of coordinated actions at the regional and global levels, the parties discussed the activities of Turkmenistan in the field of ensuring and realizing the rights of the child in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals.
