On September 20, 2016 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistn had a meeting with the delegation of the Asian Development Bank, headed by the President of the Bank, Mr. Takehiko Nakao, who arrived in the Turkmen capital on a working visit.
During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the ADB.
The parties also discussed the possibility of expanding partnership interaction of the sides, in particular, in such priority areas as energy, industry, transport and trade. Much attention was paid to strengthening ties in such areas as business and banking sector.
During the meeting the sides paid attention to the development of cooperation in the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC). The delegation of the Asian Development Bank noted the willingness to continue to work together on ongoing and future projects and ADB programs in Turkmenistan and expressed satisfaction with the effectiveness of partnership.
