On June 16, 2017, an international scientific conference titled "Perspectives on Strategic Cooperation Opportunities between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea under a New Government", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries had been held in Seoul.
The conference was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the building of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Hanyang in Seoul.
Heads of diplomatic missions of several countries accredited in Seoul, officials from various ministries and departments of the Republic of Korea, heads of the Association of Friendship between the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries, rectors and professors of a number of leading universities of South Korea, representatives and researchers of financial and economic structures, teachers and students of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Hanyang and representatives of local media participated in the work of the scientific conference.
Director of the Asia-Pacific Research Center of Hanyang University, Professor Gu Hoh Eom, Director of the Department for European Affairs of the Korean Foreign Ministry Soo Suk Lim, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea, President of Korea-Central Asia Friendship Association Mrs.Ok Ryon Lee, members of the delegation of Turkmenistan and professors from several universities of Seoul delivered their speeches at the conference.
During the speeches and the discussions, the main achievements were noted within the framework of a mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea. Also, the positive dynamics of the gradual development of the economy of Turkmenistan, expressed in the high socio-economic indicators of the country was underlined.
During the conference, a video was shown, which tells about modern life and the main achievements of Turkmenistan.
At the end of the event, guests were invited to a solemn dinner, where they could taste and appreciate the national Turkmen cuisine.
