On November 6, 2017 in the National Pedagogical University named after M.P. Dragomanov, in Kiev, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine presented the book "Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road" written by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In the assembly hall of the NPU named after M.P. Drahomanov, decorated with national flags of Turkmenistan and Ukraine, an exhibition stand was organized where copies of the book were presented in three languages. The Turkmen students and the teaching staff of the Pedagogical University took part in the presentation ceremony.
During the presentation, it was especially emphasized that the title of the new work of the head of state - "Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road", chosen by the Council of Elders as the motto of 2018, reflects the concept of modern development of the country, based on historical experience, traditions of peacemaking and good-neighborliness, aspirations for regional and global integration and progress.
The presentation also highlighted the importance of the new publication in the popularization of the spiritual and historical and cultural components of the phenomenon of the Great Silk Road, in particular its Turkmen segment, on which are located the greatest monuments: Ancient Merv, Kunya Urgench and Parthian fortresses of Nisa, inscribed on the World Heritage List.
It should be noted that a few days before, on October 31, 2017, officers of the Consular post of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kharkov also organized a presentation of the book by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road" in the building of the Kharkov National Pedagogical University named after G.S. Skovoroda with the participation of the rector and teachers of this university, as well as Turkmen students.
A welcoming speech was made by the rector of the KhNPU named after G.S. Skovoroda I. Prokopenko and spoke about the role and significance of Turkmenistan in the history of the Great Silk Road. The youth from the number of Turkmen students shared their opinion about the book, expressing deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the great monumental work.
