On December 1, 2017, a briefing devoted to the International Day of Neutrality was held in the building of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tashkent.
The briefing, was attended by the representatives of the mass media of Uzbekistan, public figures and Turkmen students, studying at higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The participants of the briefing spoke in detail about the importance and the role of the permanently neutral status in the country's foreign policy, socio-economic and socio-political achievements, as well as the key directions of the multi-format Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the numerous events planned for holding in 2018, both in the country and abroad, under the motto "Turkmenistan - heart of the Great Silk Road".
In addition, the briefing noted the strategic, close and multi-faceted partnership of Turkmenistan with the United Nations and the role of the Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia in resolving emerging issues through political and diplomatic methods and means.
Also, the initiatives of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which were voiced from the high rostrum of the UN and on the margins of international forums on Afghanistan, about the safe and stable transit of energy resources, on the construction of transcontinental auto- and railways, as well as on the preservation of environmental diversity in our planet.
Within the framework of the event, a video was shown, telling about large-scale transformations in Independent Neutral Turkmenistan and about its unique historical and cultural heritage.
