On December 6, 2017, representatives of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN organized a presentation of the book "Turkmenistan - heart of the Great Silk Road" by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, A. Ataeva, noted in her speech that the new book of the President of Turkmenistan presents the concept of modern development of Turkmenistan based on historical experience, traditions of peacemaking and good-neighborliness, honoring the spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people, their aspiration for regional and global integration and progress.
The ambassador stressed that the book contains a map showing the ways that stretch from the South to the North from the East to the West, which in turn shows that Turkmenistan today is of great importance in creating intercontinental transport cooperation in different directions.
Under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, large-scale construction projects are underway in the country to modernize the entire transport infrastructure. All of the above contributes to the expansion and activation of the Great Silk Road.
The event was attended by the permanent representatives of the member states to the UN.
