On August 9, 2018, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Organization for Economic Cooperation Adem Kula, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the ECO-CCI thanked the Turkmen side for the warm welcome and expressed gratitude for the ongoing cooperation.
During the talks, the sides exchanged views on promising areas of partnership, identifying among them the trade and industry. Also, the Secretary General of the ECO-CCI, for his part, presented a proposal for holding a briefing in Istanbul on the ongoing construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, as well as the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line. The guest noted that holding such an event would arouse the interest of other member countries of the Organization of Economic Cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side promised to consider the proposals of the ECO-CCI and thanked for the work that is contributing to the greater recognition of Turkmenistan on the world arena.
