On May 23-24, 2022, the delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the 2nd preparatory meeting of the Economic and Environmental Forum of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which was held in Lodž, Poland.
In his speech, the representative of the Turkmenbashi seaport noted the importance of the development of transport and trade facilitation, as well as energy security as priorities for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE in the field of economy and environmental protection. In particular, it was emphasized that the Turkmenbashi International Port plays an important role as a convenient transport hub on the Caspian Sea, located at the crossroads of many trade routes. In this context, it was noted that Turkmenistan is actively cooperating with the OSCE in the development of green ports and transport links, as well as in expanding the economic opportunities for women in the energy sector.
The participants of the meeting were also informed about the priorities of Turkmenistan in the field of energy security, sustainable transport system and water resources management. It was noted that Turkmenistan supports measures aimed at reaching these goals in the OSCE region and is constantly building up the country's transport potential by launching major international and regional projects.
