On June 9, a sub-regional technical consultation of partners and health experts was held in a virtual format, with the support of the WHO Regional Office for Europe (WHO/Europe) and the Ministries of Health of Central Asian countries. During the consultations, the main focus was set on accelerating work on the draft Roadmap for Health and Well-Being in Central Asia for 2022-2025.
In particular, the parties noted the importance of promoting the One Health concept at the regional level as one of the main pillars of the Roadmap. The proposals made in this regard were supported by development partners: the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank (WB). For their part, the representatives of Turkmenistan confirmed their readiness to host in Ashgabat a sub-regional ministerial conference on One Health.
