On April 2, 2022, during the 17th meeting of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, a resolution was adopted on Turkmenistan's accession to the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific, adopted in Bangkok in 2016.
The framework agreement is administered by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and is aimed at introducing modern forms of trade, including through the adaptation of a regional single window systems, increasing the efficiency and transparency of international trade.
