On January 23, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia organized a round table dedicated to the motto of 2024 in Turkmenistan - “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.
The round table was attended by journalists of the Georgian First Channel, “TV-24”, “The Georgian Business Week”, news agencies “News Day Georgia”, “Inter press news”, online media “Geoecohub”, newspapers “Resonance”, “Multinational Georgia”, “Free Georgia”, “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia D.Seyitmammedov noted that the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, a great poet and thinker of the East, the founder of Turkmen classical literature, whose creative heritage, being an invaluable national treasure, has become an inalienable part of the treasury of world culture, is celebrated at the international level in 2024. The Ambassador informed the round table participants about the planned ceremonial events dedicated to this date.
During his speech, the Ambassador also noted that the book of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Youth is the support of the Motherland”, dedicated to the results of 2023, was published. In this context, it was emphasized that today the President of Turkmenistan successfully continues the work begun by the National Leader of the Turkmen people to increase the role of youth in state building.
The speeches of the round table participants noted the importance of holding such events in strengthening intercultural ties between our countries.
In particular, honored Journalist of Georgia, professor Badri Nachkebia noted in his speech that an integral component of the modern Turkmen-Georgian interstate dialogue is the cultural and humanitarian sphere, where Turkmenistan and Georgia have good traditions of joint activities and creative cooperation.
Liana Ghorgholiani, editor-in-chief of the online publication “Geoecohub”, emphasized that the events planned for the anniversary will contribute to further study and widespread popularization in the world of the rich literary heritage of Magtymguly Fragi, an outstanding master of words and philosophical thought, who elevated not only Turkmen, but also world literature.
As part of the round table, participants were shown a documentary film dedicated to Magtymguly Fragi.
