On January 23, 2024, a solemn event was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine dedicated to the presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov entitled “Youth is the support of the Motherland”, as well as the motto of 2024 in Turkmenistan “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”.
The event was attended by Turkmen students studying at local universities, the Turkmen diaspora and diplomats.
It was noted that the work of the head of state, dedicated to the activities and achievements of Turkmen youth in the socio-economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, is intended to become a reference book for the current and future generation of young Turkmen citizens.
The importance of the youth policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, the purpose of which is to comprehensively ensure the active participation of youth in the economic, political and cultural life of the country, was especially emphasized.
The participants also made presentations on the importance of studying the rich and priceless literary heritage of the poet-thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
In addition, in the speeches were noted that the announcement of 2024 as the “Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world Magtymguly Fragi” at a meeting of the permanent council of TURKSOY, as well as the inclusion of the Day of celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi in the UNESCO List of memorable dates jointly celebrated in 2024–2025, are confirmation of the recognition of the work of the great thinker and poet of the East at the international level.
During the event, poems were read and vocal numbers were performed based on words from poem of Arkadag “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”, as well as Magtymguly’s poems in the Turkmen language “Türkmeniň”, “Durasyň geler”, “Delalat yagşy”, “Atça bolmaz”, “Ýaranlar” ”, “Bady sabany görsem”, ”, “Печаль зосталася” and “Добра і зла” in Ukrainian.
Along with this, within the framework of the event, the book of the President of Turkmenistan “Ýaşlar – Watanyň daýanjy”, numerous publications written by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, works of art dedicated to the life and creative path of Magtymguly Fragi, collections of poems in Ukrainian, Turkmen, English and other foreign languages were presented languages.
At the end of the event, participants watched a film about the poet’s life journey called “Magtymguly”.
