On 13 February 2024, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Georgia D.Seyitmammedov met with the Chairman of the Creative Union of Georgian Writers M.Gonashvili.
The sides noted that Turkmenistan and Georgia have centuries-old traditionally friendly relations that continue to develop actively, both bilaterally and multilaterally
It was underlined that an important component of the strategic partnership between the two countries is cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, where there is long-term experience of interaction and the potential to strengthen it.
The Ambassador noted that this year the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi is solemnly celebrated at the international level. In this regard, he acquainted M.Gonashvili with the festive activities dedicated to this event.
The parties discussed issues related to holding joint events devoted to 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, as well as the translation of poems of the great poet into Georgian. At the same time, the Chairman of Creative Union of Georgian Writers noted that it would contribute to wider familiarization of the Georgian public with the work of Magtymguly Fragi, as well as further strengthening humanitarian dialogue, relations of friendship and mutual understanding between our countries and peoples.
