On 7 March 2024, the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to UNOG Vepa Hajiyev met with representatives of the Latter-day Saint Charities – Christian charity organization accredited to the United Nations Office in Geneva.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the establishment of bilateral cooperation for the further implementation of joint humanitarian projects aimed at assisting the most vulnerable segments of the population in various regions of the world.
It is necessary to mention, that the representatives of the organization highly appreciated the humanitarian activities carried out by Turkmenistan in the region and in the world as a whole.
Special attention given to the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship established in Turkmenistan in 2021 and the importance of charitable activities in the modern world, taking into account the current realities.
By the end of the meeting, the representatives of the above-mentioned charitable organization were provided with relevant information materials for more detailed familiarization with the activities of the Foundation.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned international charitable organization is represented in almost 190 countries of the world. In 2022 alone it has implemented 3,692 humanitarian projects around the world for a total amount of 1 billion 20 million US dollars.
